ABOUT THIS PROJECT

The Bayport project is one of Pietman’s earlier projects in corporate architecture as a practicing architect in Johannesburg. The client, Blend Properties, bought this 13 000m 2 property on the corner of 10 th Avenue and Rivonia Boulevard in central Rivonia, The brief was to transform the two late 1980’s buildings into clean, modern office space.

The project challenge was to find the perfect balance between acceptable refurbishment and a limited budget. As principle agent and architect on this project, Pietman coordinated and coordinated all professionals and service providers involved. Working with the existing structure and adding element accents like industrial feel and varied textures, the building was transformed into a contemporary, efficient space within budget and project scope.
