When my client acquired the existing home in the prestigious Waterfall Equestrian Estate, it was a classic fixer-upper—a dated property with good bones but lacking the sophisticated edge expected of modern luxury living. They didn't just want a simple renovation; they sought a complete architectural reimagining. It requires a highly specific eye to look past heavy, traditional structures and old-world brickwork, stripping a building back to its very core to uncover the contemporary masterpiece hiding beneath.
The refurbishment process was an absolute transformation. We replaced the heavy, enclosed aesthetic with the clean, sweeping geometry of 21st-century design. By introducing bold horizontal concrete planes and expansive floor-to-ceiling glass, we completely redefined the home’s relationship with its environment, seamlessly dissolving the boundaries between the opulent interior and the sprawling equestrian landscape.
To give the exterior a distinctively suave, modern signature, we integrated a striking colonnade of vertical louvers. Paired with integrated, seamless linear lighting, the facade now boasts a confident, rhythmic energy that comes alive at dusk.
